The test results show a slight increase in the measured rate of fire and a corresponding decrease in measured muzzle velocity. The combination of these results may be explained through a slight reduction in cylinder sealing, allowing the cylinder to fill more quickly for an increased ROF but also at a slightly reduced muzzle velocity. The comparison of note here however is the very minute difference in measured peak noise amplitude at 5ft.
*6/14/05: a slight miscalculation in the average db values was discovered and rectified. The originally published values of -7.61 and -7.81 were erroneously calculated from less than peak values in the waveform.
