Systema Silent Head Set

In this Mini-Review, we pit the Systema Silent Head Set against the Systema Silicon Piston Head and try to determine if the the so called "silent piston head" really works as advertised.

Introduction

The loudest noise produced by a typical AEG mechbox results from the impact of the piston head against the cylinder head. With increased main spring strength and correspondingly increased impact energy of the piston/piston head assembly, the impact noise of the AEG firing cycle can become a significant source of sound. Reducing the magnitude of this sound serves a two-fold purpose: improved concealment for the airsoft "sniper" and reduced impact energy transfer to the mechbox.
