Biodegradable 0.20g BBs

We test 4 commonly available biodegradable airsoft BBs for their physical consistency and range accuracy.

Introduction

Being a predominantly outdoor diversion, airsofters routinely contaminate nature with several thousand rounds of plastic BBs per person, per game. On routinely frequented fields, the amount of plastic deposited can rapidly accumulate to thousands of pounds. While all plastics will eventually degrade, typical plastics are especially resistant to both chemical and biological degradation, allowing them to stay around for hundreds of years. Recent societal pressures have spurred scientists to find ways to make plastics more susceptible to various forms of degradation, and the resulting "biodegradable" plastics have also found their way to the airsoft market.
