Page 2 of 17 Candidate 1: Classic Army
Classic Army’s "yellow" piston is marketed as a reinforced piston both on their website and on the packaging, but many have found that it may not be as reinforced as Classic Army claims. The yellow piston is standard in CA’s new line AEGs which have garnered good reviews despite CA’s previous reputation for shoddy quality control. Cursory examination of the yellow piston shows noticeable molding lines and a rough surface.
Piston: Classic Army Reinforced Piston Weight: 0.4oz Piston Material: unconfirmed Metal Teeth: 1 Average Barcol Hardness (piston): 0* Average Barcol Hardness (tooth): 87.6 Tapered Lip: No Distinguishing Feature: It's yellow
*Note: the Barcol Impressor could not register a reading for this piston. | |
The rough molding texture can be observed here, as well as the lack of a tapered "lip" at the entrance to the piston barrel.
