Airsoft Innovations

Carl, besides covering part of the show for us, also brought his Tornado grenade family for demonstration.  The newest addition is called Crash, which is an impact triggered grenade.  The trigger mechanism is quite ingenious and consists of 4 stacked components.  It takes less than 2 minutes to ready the grenade.  Once the pin is pulled, any sufficient force transfer to offset the trigger stack will set off the grenade.  From the demonstrations, even an one inch drop onto a hard surface was adequate to trigger the system.  However, the grenade will not detonate from vigorous shaking and soft impacts.  The grenade holds 200 BBs, and will be available very soon at MSRP of $99.95.

For those looking for a retrofit kit for the original Tornado timer grenades though, you are out of luck.  Crash fully utilizes newly designed components, except for the outer plastic shell BB reservoir.  In essence, a retrofit kit would basically equate to a complete replacement grenade.  As such, Crash is also incompatible with the distraction device add-on for the original Tornado timer grenades.
