Page 3 of 17 ARESThanks to Spartan Imports and ZShot, I was able to check out the various new offerings from ARES. They include the electric blowback G36 series, PPSh-41, KAC Stoner LMG, CheyTac Intervention M100 labeled as CM200, and CheyTac Intervention M200.
The electric blowback G36 series (includes G36C, G36K, and G36) has licensed trademarks, but the trademarks appear to be some sort of sticker with 6mm caliber markings. I just hope that the trademarks on the production versions will not retain the same appearance. As for the actual features, the electric blowback G36 series offers quick takedown similar to the real firearm. Simply remove the receiver pins, and the AEG can be disassembled into the major component groups: upper receiver with barrel, lower receiver with mechbox, magazine well, and stock. The mechbox also has the ARES standard quick detach spring guide for easy main spring change. However, the spring guide still does not have the essential thrust bearing.
The actual blowback function for the electric blowback G36 series is a direct piston link system, similar to that of the Guarder AK blowback conversion kit. The reciprocating fake bolt carrier and charging handle assembly is directly pulled by the piston during firing. As such, jamming the assembly will likely cause immediate system failure.
